Sr. Process Controls Engineer

The primary purpose of the Senior Process Control Engineer is to provide process control engineering support for chemical manufacturing operations. The support includes automation system hardware/ software maintenance and reliability planning as well as technician support, project development and execution to 24 x 7 manufacturing operations. The process control engineer is responsible for maintaining, developing, and deploying process control strategies to improve throughput, yield, and or energy usage utilizing Six Sigma methodology to drive increased productivity.
Measurable improvements in unit performance aligned to business financial objectives including raw material usage, energy usage, reliability, capacity, and quality.
Technical support, guidance and expertise for all phases of automation projects, from front-end engineering through detailed design, configuration, implementation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance.
Support of site Process Hazard Analysis and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
Active development and support if Safety Instrumented Systems and ISA84.2004
Support well-defined Process Automation productivity improvement plans for the Chocolate Bayou site.
Develop and maintain dynamic operational entitlement models in order to understand best performance for any given set of conditions (production demand, catalyst age, etc.)
Application of cutting edge controls technology to improve manufacturing processes to provide competitive advantage.
Providing technical guidance, developing and maintaining engineering standards for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and process control automation systems for the company.
System Life Planning which includes the development and implementation of a migration plan which will:
Migrate the fixed batch control from Modicon 984 ladder logic to Delta V using Delta V primitive blocks.
Migrate the continuous control from Provox to Delta V.
Migrate and upgrade safety and environmentally rated safety functions from the PES and hardwired relays to Delta V SIS.
Maintain and improve Safety Instrumented Systems.
Maintain and improve existing process automation assets to achieve production targets for chemical processes.
Propose enhancements to existing control strategies.
Use a broad range of automation tools such as advanced regulatory control, model predictive control, abnormal situation management, adaptive tuning, optimal control, robust control, adaptive control, or soft sensors, and data historians to improve existing processes.
Work closely with manufacturing units to define appropriate controls applications.
Develop knowledge of existing processes to identify process control improvement opportunities.
Work with multi-disciplined teams to design, develop and implement solutions for manufacturing processes.
Lead automation projects
Develop key performance indicators, track key process parameters and overall process performance.
Leverage Six Sigma techniques to improve process performance and efficiency.
Train and facilitate the transfer of new process control technologies into manufacturing units
Document process control findings in technical reports.
Process Control Manager
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Controls Engineer with a Bachelors or Masters in Chemical or Electrical Engineering. Other engineering degrees will be given consideration based on relevant experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial chemical manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with process controls technologies such as model predictive, multi-variable, non-linear control, advanced regulatory and classic PID control.
Knowledge and experience in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to high hazard scenarios
Knowledge of the requirements of ISA84 as applied to design, implementation, maintenance and operations of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Strong programming and programming design skills as applied to batch process control, data communication, data collection and display systems
Prior experience with Delta V and Delta V SIS
Understanding of the reliability, documentation and Management of Change requirements imposed by implementing projects as a team member in an on-line processing environment
Demonstrated ability to apply Continuous Improvement Tools
Strong initiative to identify and address areas for improvement
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and effectively manage multiple complex projects
Prior experience with Modicon 984 ladder logic and Provox/Envox a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
