Summary:
The Drafting Associate is responsible for supporting the Drafting & Project Manager in all activities related to interpreting and drafting drawings for finished products.
In this role, the Drafting Associate will generate accurate, high quality, and timely CAD drawings, produce layouts for shop fabrication drawings, determine materials needed for the project, develop programming for manufacturing and more.
This position will interface with the customer, engineers, division leads, and shop as needed to ensure finished products align with customer needs.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Interpret customer-supplied engineering drawings and 3D models Provide computer aided design (CAD) drafting and generate client and fabrication drawings Coordinate project designs by consulting with client, engineering, product specialist, and shop Constructability review, including checking part dimensions, reverse engineering and making all necessary information available to production Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards Create layouts, program equipment for fabrication and generate bill of materials for projects Internal drawing review as well as assist Production in interpreting drawing details Build Job Packets consisting of fabrication drawings, inspection reports, specs, job traveler and the work order for distribution Understand and value other parts of the company, their roles, and work with each department effectively Execute any and all tasks assigned by supervisor Observe safety procedures at all times Uphold leadership values of integrity, excellence, innovation and collaboration; displaying respect and a positive attitude in all interactions with the team and customers
Qualifications:
Basic computer skills Basic math skills Basic knowledge of materials Knowledge of metal fabrication, materials, welding, machining, punching, cutting and forming are preferred Competency in drawing interpretation Competency in AutoCad Competency in 3D modeling (i.
e.
, Inventor) preferred Proficient in general computer knowledge, Microsoft Office Suite of products and other job-related software Ability to multitask and project manage Ability to be a team player and work with other staff members Ability to model, teach, and promote Woven Metal Product's core values of reliable quality, a partnership attitude, and attention to detail Job Type:
